HOW TO MAKE SOURDOUGH BREAD

This class is suitable for complete beginners as well as more experienced home bakers. All are welcome!
You will leave with the confidence to bake your own real bread at home!

PRICE INCLUDES

  • your own fresh organic sourdough starter culture to take home with you
  • 2 loaves of self-made sourdough bread to bake at home
  • A comprehensive handout of the recipe & processes covered in the workshop
  • a delicious vegetarian lunch using fresh local ingredients
  • tea/coffee served throughout the day

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN

  • how to start and maintain a sourdough starter
  • the nutritional benefits and digestibility of long fermentation sourdough breads
  • a fundamental understanding of the best types of flours to use

What you'll need to bring

  • 2 clean tea towels (lint-free)
  • 2 x 2.5L glass Pyrex bowls with lids (available to buy in most good homeware stores or online)
    OR 1 x Pyrex bowl & 1 x proving bowl/basket
  • Don't worry if you don't have this Pyrex bowl - I will have a limited number available to buy on the day - just let me know in advance..
  • Please bring your tea-towels & proving baskets/bowl to take your bread home in - the pyrex dish is essential for baking your sourdough at home
